PML-N suceeds to hold Pervez Musharraf in Pakistan for one week


ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has accepted the plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to challenge the permission granted to former President General (rtd) Pervez Musharraf according to which he can travel abroad.

The Attorney General of Pakistan submitted the plea from PML-N in the supreme court on Saturday which Justice Saqib Nisar heard on Monday morning.

Justice Saqib Nisar noted that it is an important matter so the court would hear the matter next week.

Attorney General requested that its only a 15-day window to reach on any decision so the court should hear it today. Upon this Justice Saqib said “Chief Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani is not here. He will come today and make a bench himself to hear the plea.”

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has grated the permission to Musharraf to travel abroad and gave only 15 days time period to federal government to challenge this decision.
