FATA tribes migrating to Afghanistan fearing military operation


PESHAWAR – The tribesmen from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) reportedly migrating to the neighboring province of Afghanistan where a refugee camp has been set up.

According to an estimate at least 361 tribal families, comprising 6,343 people, have crossed into Afghanistan to avoid the destruction amid military operation against outlawed militants in North Waziristan Agency.

According to the original report, tribal families have get themselves registered with the Afghan government.

The governor of the neighbouring Khost province, Abdul Jabbar, has announced that ration and monetary assistance of 50,000 afghanis will be provided to the tribesmen who have taken refugee there.

PakistanTribe reported on June 11 that at least 50,000 tribes have fled the area fearing military action against militants.
