ISLAMABAD – The vice chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has termed the Insafiyans’ red zone battles with federal police on every Friday as ‘peaceful and democratic’.
Like previous Fridays, today Insafiyans entered the Red Zone of Islamabad after scuffle with the police and staged a protest.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi was leading the rally who said “We are protesting in a peaceful democratic manner.”
Qureshi also said that the party received a letter from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif regarding reforms in the electoral process of the country. He also said that the Premier is ready to make amendment in the election process and the issue will be resolved via dialogue.
Qureshi said that a demonstration will be held on 22nd June at Bahawalpur and warned that sit-ins will be held in every district of South Punjab if the federal government creates any deadlocks.
“We are protesting in a peaceful and democratic manner”, he added.
Its pertinent to mention here that PTI had announced the protests on every Friday and first of its episode was initiated on May 16. So this day, when 500-700 PTI workers appeared for the demonstration police was prepared to meet any possible condition.
