K-Electric coping ‘fault’ while residents come on streets

KARACHI – K-Electric explained the reason behind more than usual load shedding in some areas of metropolis as fault in the line after demonstrators blocked the M.A. Jinnah road.

According to the correspondent reports, residential areas of Karachi were facing extended 1.5 hour load shedding due to the fault in line from Wednesday.

However, the K-Electric’s official said “We have not increased load shedding but there was a fault in 220 KV line, 11 grid stations were affected, so we are compelled to carry out unannounced load-shedding in some areas for load-management. The complete restoration will take few hours since we are working on the systems.”

Moreover, due to the maintenance in electricity supply remained suspended from 9 am to 9 pm in Bukhari Street, Popular Avenue, Rehman Villas and Bright Star Paradise Mall.
