Sindh govt knew about security lapse at Karachi airport: Ch Nisar

ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan claimed that security warning about the lapses on old gates of Karachi airport were issued to the government of Sindh back in March 2014.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s minister was speaking to journalists in his chamber on Thursday when he said that government of Sindh was responsible for providing relief and rescue during all chaos.

“Truth must be told,” Nisar told the journalists. “It was the duty of government of Sindh to provide relief and rescue at Karachi airport. I was being told that Karachi airport was clear. And after that people were found inside the cold storage. I ordered to breakdown the wall of store room. On my instructions the rescue equipment was brought,” he added.

Nisar also said that Pakisan Peoples Party (PPP) lead Sindh government knew about he weak security of old gates at Karachi airport ever since March 2014.
