KARACHI – In the wake of Karachi Airport Attack, the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have raided Afghan Basti area of metropolis and arrested at least 17 foreign nationals suspects including Uzbeks.
Only a day after Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) issued pictures of Uzbek terrorists killed in Karachi Airport Attack, LEAs raided in Karachi and made arrests.
The law enforcement agencies have focussed their attention over the people illegally staying in Karachi. “In a targeted operation in Afghan Basti and adjoining areas 17 suspects including Uzbek nationals were arrested,” police sources said.
The arrested suspects have been transferred to undisclosed place for interrogation, sources said.
Police has registered the FIR of the airport attack against the spokesman of Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Shahidullah Shahid and the top leadership of the militants’ umbrella group.
IMU, an ally of TTP, has also claimed responsibility of the attack that has shaken the security agencies of the country.
