KARACHI – The Airport Security Force (ASF)’s camp in Karachi comes under attack within a day of Karachi Airport siege as terrorist reloaded the activities once again, officials confirmed.
According to the preliminary reports, the ASF camp came under attack exactly on the footprints of Karachi Airport Attack.
The assailants have firing the gunshots but ASF and Sindh Rangers once again fighting with the same spirit they demonstrated in the Karachi Airport rescue operation.
ASF spokesman confirmed the report, saying that exchange of fire between ASF personnel and terrorists at ASF academy located near the old terminal that was attacked Sunday night.
Police and paramilitary Rangers were called for reinforcement.
Reports suggest that three to four terrorists lodged the attack from adjacent slums’ side at the time when ASF higher ups were busy in briefings inside the buildings of ASF camp.
Rescue sources confirm that at least three ASF soldiers sustain bullet injuries.
Moreover, PakistanTribe learnt that inside ASF camp there is huge stock of ammunition and weapons. ASF officials believe that terrorists’ primary target was to to reach the same building.
The media and journalists have once again started showing remarkable irresponsibility and reporting the position of security officials.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif orders to ‘kill the terrorists’.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, IG Sindh Police actively coordinating with the operation. IG Sindh confirmed that amid ASF Camp attack at 1,000 policemen send to escort Karachi Airport.
Some reports also suggest that Special Services Group (SSG) personnel arrive to take charge of operation.
All international and domestic flights destined to Karachi Airport diverted to Larkana and Nawabshah Airports.
Serious concern raised over the security measures after first attack that lead to the second attack.
Reports suggest that all attackers of ASF camp fled in the Pehalwan Goth area. ASF, Rangers and other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) following behind to contain the terrorist.
Pehalwan Goth area is famous for one of the highest number of arrests during Karachi targeted operation.
Terrorist keep hiding in the adjacent population. Reportedly, terrorists (8 to 10 according to one estimate) have been surrounded by the ASF and Sindh Rangers in Pehalwan Goth area.
Military sources confirmed that ASF camp is totally secure and protected now.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif keeps close contact with troops on ground and orders to “Do everything to kill the terrorist.”
DG Sindh Rangers Major General Rizwan Akhter leading the operation from Rangers as terrorists kept firing at soldiers from the hideouts of Pehalwan Goth.
Media footage also showed that some residents of the locality run towards the security officials to save their lives.
Its feared that terrorists might have kept some hostages. However, LEAs vowed to eliminate the terrorists right there today.
PakistanTribe also learnt that flight operation from Karachi airport restored as ASF soldiers took guard at runway and boarding lounges.
Security at ASF camp in Rawalpindi was beefed up after the incident in Karachi. It was also learnt that security officials were given clear instructions to ‘shoot at sight’ at Islamabad Airport on looking at any suspicious person.
