‘Sectarian lunatics’ martyred at least 30 Iran-returned pilgrims


QUETTA – The sectarian lunatics have once again targeted the returning pilgrims and brutally martyred at least 30 in Balochistan.

According to the security officials attack was lodged at the Pak-Iran border region of Taftan on Midnight between Sunday and Monday.

“Four attackers including two gunmen and two suicide bombers attacked the restaurant in Taftan. So far we can confirm 30 people have been killed including several pilgrims and security personal. Seven others are injured.” Akbar Durrani, Home Secretary of  Balochistan said.

According Durrani, the bus was on its way from Iran to Quetta and was carrying zaireen (pilgrims).

“Initial investigations shows the terrorists bombed the hotel with a couple of grenades and shot the the bus up from a distance.” Durrani said.

Meanwhile, Levies personnel, who wasted no time in hitting the shooting site, have reportedly engaged the gunmen and a shootout was underway as you read this report.

Hazara Democratic Party, Allama Sajid Naqvi, and Allama Abbas Kumeli condemned the sectarian attack in the strongest of words.

On September 20, 2011, a similar  attack on a bus traveling in Mastung District left at least 26 people dead. The victims were Shia Muslim pilgrims of the Hazara community, suggesting the attack to have been a targeted killing of sectarian nature.
