FIA Cyber Crime Cell arrests two men on blackmailing charges

KARACHI: Federal Investigation Agency Cyber Crime Circle Karachi arrested a man Babar Baloch on the complaint Community Welfare Counselor, Consulate General of Pakistan in United Kingdom. Accused has been arrested here in Karachi on the charges of blackmailing a British National Pakistani woman and attempting to force her into marriage through blackmail, Cyber Crime Circle is conducting further investigations.

Sources informed that the accused Babar Baloch and the said woman were friends and it was during this friendship Baloch acquired comprising pictures of the complainant. The situation had made the woman suicidal after repeated attempts of blackmail and impelling into marriage.

During the initial investigation, under the supervision of Additional Director Asim Iftikhar, Cyber Crime Circle detected the accused and arrested him today. Although most of the evidence has been found on Baloch’s confiscated mobile phone FIA is investigating the matter further to ensure transparency and security of the complainant.

Famous lawyer Khawaja Naveed Ahmed is representing the said British National Pakistani woman and he has provided FIA Cyber Crime Circle important evidence on behalf of his client.

Furthermore, FIA Cyber Crime circle has arrested another accused on the complaint of a local lady. Accused was defaming the complainant by posting her personal pictures with vulgar comments on a fake Facbook account. In his statement to F.I.A the accused stated that he was doing this to take revenge from the complainant after she betrayed him in friendship and refused to payback his loan.

Cyber crime officials detected the accused and confiscated related material including computer, laptop and internet modem during the raid at the accused’s house.
