Hours long power outages expected as Guddu power plant on fire

QUETTA – In an unfortunate incident of fire breakout at one of the key power plants in Balochistan, at least fourteen units would remain shut suspending electricity supply to score of the areas.

The unfortunate incident took place on Saturday when cables and trees caught fire probably due to short circuit, officials confirmed.

Though fire brigade workers are trying to extinguish the fire but officials believe that it would take at least four to five hours. Moreover, fourteen out of sixteen units of the power plant went out of function which would only be ready to reproduce electricity after couple of hours.

Until then score of the areas of Sindh and Balochistan will have to bear the hour long power outages.
