31 Top Pakistanis Players Revealed But Younis Khan Talent And Fitness Ignored

PCB announces players in four categories with Younis Khan declinedLAHORE – Contradicting all of its claims for linking fitness and performance with the central contract category, the cricket board has placed super fit and performer Younis Khan in the B category.

The name was revealed as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announces the award of its Players Central Contracts for the calendar year 2014.

The list includes names of 31 senior and junior players in four categories.

According to Moin Khan, “The PCB has enhanced the monthly retainer for all categories by 25 per cent. The remuneration for Test matches stands increased by 25 per cent, while for ODIs it is 10 per cent. The win bonus for series wins against the top three ICC ranked teams as well as India has been raised from 200 per cent to 250 per cent.”

“The players’ share of the logo fee too has seen upward revision by 15 per cent, while some of the individual performance incentives have also been made more competitive.”

However, when asked about question on which criteria Younis was placed in category B, Haroon ur Rasheed, PCB official, had no clear answer to the question.

“There ‘must’ be a criteria behind placing each player in the specific category,” Haroon said while praising fitness and performance of Younis Khan.

Khan, willing to play 2015 world cup, has been playing only test cricket, but proving his fitness and performance in every series.

Category ‘A’
Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi, Junaid Khan.

Category ‘B’
Younis Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal, Umar Gul.

Category ‘C’
Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Adnan Akmal, Khurram Manzoor, Nasir Jamshed, Abdur Rehman

Category ‘D’
Sohaib Maqsood, Sarfraz Ahmed, Bilawal Bhatti, Sharjeel Khan, Zulfiqar Babar, Fawad Alam, Ehsan Adil, Mohammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz, Raza Hasan, Umar Amin, Haris Sohail, Rahat Ali, Shan Masood, Mohammad Talha, Anwar Ali.
