Help in Need: Finally a good news for troubled Altaf Hussain

LONDON – Within minutes of Nawaz Sharif’s directives to provide legal assistance to Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s supremo Altaf Hussain, Pakistani High Commission initiated the help plan.

According to the latest development from London, the High Commission authorities wrote a letter to Common Wealth Office to provide access to details of cases formed against Altaf Hussain.

Although the High Commission of Pakistan in London held a different version on Altaf Hussain’s case until yesterday but after clear orders from Pakistani premier the entire situation seemed altered. Yesterday, High Comission cited that as Altaf Hussain was a British citizen so we cannot do anything in the matter.

However, its clear now that Pakistani authorities in London trying to provide consular services to Altaf Hussain.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali had earlier in telephonic conversation with Governor of Sindh Ishratul Ebad assured the government’s full cooperation to the MQM leader. Later, Nawaz Sharif chaired high level meeting in Islamabad to lay down strategy for assisting Altaf Hussain.

Earlier today, the leader of MQM Dr Farooq Sattar had demanded from the PML-N government to seek guarantee from its counterpart in UK that Altaf Hussain would not be teased or annoyed unnecessarily.
