LONDON – The supremo of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussian has been arrested in London over the charges of money laundering, confirmed the Scotland Yard.

According to the preliminary reports from London, the police cordon off the whole area of Altaf Hussain’s residence to make the arrest on Tuesday.

Altaf Hussain was also reportedly taken into the police station back in August 2013 for investigation.

Altaf Hussain was accused of the money laundering ever since 2012 when during the investigation of Dr Imran Farooq’s murder case London Met Police found at least 400,000 pounds from his residence. Back then Altaf Hussain could not justify the presence of the recovered amount.

However, MQM leader Barrister Farogh Naseem has confirmed with responsibility that Altaf Hussain was not under arrest. “London Police only requested to take Altaf Hussain’s statement and nothing else happened,” he added.
