Musharraf 11

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) appointed prosecutors have finally completed all the documents related to former President General (rtd) Pervez Musharraf’s high treason case which according to defence side are in fact ‘guns’ to protect their client.

Advocate Akram Sheikh lead prosecutors submitted the missing documents in the Special Court on Tuesday as Justice Faisal Arab resumed the hearing.

The missing documents included five statements and proceeding of at least four cabinet meetings – two before the imposition of 3rd November, 2007 emergency and other two after the emergency.

The seven documents submitted in the Special Court were believed to be of 837 pages. The Special Court, after receiving the documents, handed over to the lawyers of Pervez Musharraf.

Its pertinent to mention here that one of leading lawyer in Musharraf’s legal team has termed these documents no less than the ‘guns’ for the protection of Pervez Musharraf.

On the last hearing the PML-N appointed prosecutor Akram Sheikh failed to give the court complete documents with the statements of all witnesses mentioned in the list.

The Special Court headed by Justice Faisal Arab had ordered him to provide the complete list which he could not fulfill. Thus the court adjourn the hearing until June 3, 2014 and said Justice Arab said that delay in the case was due to prosecutor side.
