Modi was ever expected to resign from the powerful cricket position after his party Bharatiya Janata Party swept the general elections. He had been working on the post for last five year.
GCA secretary Rajesh Patel has been quoted by CricInfo as saying: “He has submitted his letter today and it has been decided that the GCA special general meeting will decide the new president on June 13.”
Patel, however, didn’t comment on the replacement. However, indication suggest that Amit Shah, who is longing for post, will be taking up the charge of the association.
