Mar with fight and violence, PTI defeats PML-N in by-poll

HAFIZABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s candidate won the by-poll of PP-107 Pindi Bhattian mar with violence as Insafiyans and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers fought.

According to unofficial results the PTI’s Nighat Intisar had lead of 43,798 votes against 38,515 votes of PML-N’s Sarfaraz Bhatti.

However, the PTI had officially celebrated the victory of PP-107. The opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed arrived at the electoral office of their party candidate and celebrated with the jubilant workers.

However, this was not a peaceful by-poll as at one point PTI and PML-N workers had indulge in scuffle inside one polling station. The fight had escalated to such an extent that the Presiding Officer lost his eye.

Personnel of the Elite Force arrived after 1.5 hours and took control of the situation. Clashes were also witnessed in polling stations at Jahanirpura and Government High School Pindi Bhattian.
