“The ECB does not even entertain the claims of a man who has been a fugitive from justice in his own country”, said ECB spokesman Colin Gibson, while talking to PakistanTribe.com.
“He [Lalit Modi] is banned for life by a BCCI inquiry which was led by respected politician Arun Jaitley”, added the ECB spokesman.
The spokesman didn’t rule out the possibility of a legal action, however added that it was to be decided by the legal department of the ECB.
Earlier, Lalit Modi, the former chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL), on his twitter account, claimed to have learnt about a dubious match in the recently concluded World T20 cup. “Just learn from an ACSU official – a England women’s Team World Cup match was under investigation”, wrote Lalit Modi who further stated that “It [investigation] was stopped at behest of Giles Clarke”.
In September last year, BCCI’s three-member committee, consist of Jyotiraditya Scindia and Arun Jaitley, accused Modi of several charges of irregularities and later the BCCI imposed a life ban on Modi.
