PAIRS – Good or bad performance and luck decisive factor for win and lost in any field, but can you think any player facing defeat of their outfit color? At least Tennis’s women world number one player believing for this.
There’s no doubt the world’s No. 1 ranked female tennis player has talent. Unfortunately, that talent wasn’t evident during her swift loss against Spain’s Garbine Muguruza during the second round of the French Open on Wednesday.
Williams, the reigning champion, lost in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, marking the first time she lost in the second-round of a major tournament since 1998’s Australian Open.
Williams blamed her uncharacteristically shoddy play on, well, just almost everything. She said at the news conference following the loss, ”I don’t think anything worked for me today. Nothing, not a single thing.” She even blamed the color of her outfit. “I am never going to wear green in Paris again,” she said.
