Fazlur Rehman terms Taliban talks ‘useless’ until Pak Army’s node

LAHORE – Supported with the tangible evidence of ground offensives, the leader of Jamiyat Ulma-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman termed negotiations with outlawed Taliban militants as useless until green signal from Pakistan Army.

Fazl was speaking to media representatives in Lahore when replying to a question he termed the currently halted negotiations process as fruitless and counterproductive.

He also said “Populations is being destroyed and children are dying due to the military operations in the tribal areas. The peace talks cannot succeed without the establishment’s consent.”

Its pertinent to mention here that Fazl refused to become the part of negotiation process citing its ineffectiveness.
