Voilance Against Women: 2nd reported honor killing within 24 hours

LAHORE – A woman was heinously killed as her brothers attacked her with bricks outside Lahore High Court (LHC) for apparently marrying without their consent.

The start of the week had not brought any good news for Pakistan in terms of Violence Against Women (VAW) as after Sukkur incident, on Tuesday another woman was brutally murdered.

The details suggest that as soon as a woman reached outside the gate of LHC, the brothers burning in their self-ego attacked her with bricks. Eyewitness account explained more horrific scene as it described that woman’s head was crushed with the bricks.

However, despite tight security the attackers successfully flee the crime scene.

It was also reported that the deceased had come to the court from Faisalabad to attend a hearing of a case.

Police have taken the victim’s body into custody and further investigations are underway.

Names and addresses of all those involved in this tragic incident kept anonymous on purpose to protect the identity and honor of victim’s family. PakistanTribe also urges other media outlets to do the exact same. However, if someone want information to investigate or advocate the case, he/she can contact us anytime.
