The Sun, newspaper known for sensationalisation and targeting Pakistani team during its visits to the country, had reported that Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal had refused to become a tool in the hands of match fixers.
However, Boom Boom had openly refused such ‘positive news.’
“I had not received any such offer during the visit,” Afridi made it clear.
Pakistani cricket players Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal turned down offers to fix one-day series during England’s tour of the UAE in 2012. According to British media both the players immediately reported the incident to team management and ICC’s anti-corruption unit.
