ISLAMABAD – The analysts back home criticizing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as soon as he landed in New Delhi for taking along his son to attend the oath taking ceremony of nominated Indian premier Narendar Modi.
Nawaz Sharif landed at New Delhi in a special flight from Lahore on Monday morning. But as soon as he stepped out of the plane along with his delegation, analysts and opposition parties in Pakistan started criticizing his decision to take along his son Hussain Nawaz.
The leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shireen Mazari had said “They have always made fun of Pakistan in the world by taking along their family members at such important visits. What expertise Hussain Nawaz had in Indo-Pak relations?”
Taking the same toe, the defence analyst and former Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Shahid Latif said “Taking along Hussain Nawaz for the visit to attend oath taking ceremony was incomprehensible for me.”
However, commenting over the criticism, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah maintained “Its not necessary to take only experts on such visits. Its a normal norm.”
Nawaz Sharif received warm welcome from Bhartia Janta Party (BJP) central leaders at airport when he landed there along with Tariq Fatmi, Sartaj Aziz, Asif Kirmani and Hussain Nawaz.
