Nawaz Sharif on way to New Delhi in bid to revive ties with Modi lead India

LAHORE – The rebirth of Indo-Pak relations might be just few steps away as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif set off to attend the oath taking ceremony of nominated Indian premier Narendar Modi of Bhartia Janta Party (BJP).

According to the official details, the Nawaz Sharif made sure to give a strong gesture of good will before leaving to India by releasing at least 151 Indian fishermen jailed in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif set off to New Delhi with Sartaj Aziz, Tariq Fatmi and his political secretary Asif Kirmani.

Before leaving to New Delhi, Nawaz Shairf told media representatives that he was taking a message of good will along with him. “We want cordial relationship with friendly countries. All disputes must be revolved through dialogues.”

Modi will be sworn today as India’s prime minister at a glittering ceremony that will be as much a show of his determination to be a key player on the global stage as a celebration of his stunning election victory.
