Overnight blasts in Islamabad create waves of fear in residents

ISLAMABAD – The overnight blasts in federal capital have created waves of fear among the residents as within one hour two explosives detonated at the distance of eight kilometers.

According to the details, the planted bombs were detonated in G-9 and Super Market areas of Islamabad between 2-3 am on Saturday night.

The first bomb exploded in parking area of Super Market at around 2 am. Two persons believed to be critically injured in the incident who were then shifted to the hospital.

Second blast took place in Karachi Company, the commercial hub of G-9 sector.

Both bombs were planted in empty vehicles.

The police officers and elite force commandos rushed to the crime scenes and cordon off the the area to investigate the nature of blasts. However, when asked the city’s top cop Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operation Muhammad Ali Nekukaar refused lapse in security that resulted in the blast.
