Jamat-e-Islami part ways with Imran Khan, weighs behind Geo

PESHAWAR – The Jamat-e-Islami (JI) has departed ways with Imran Khan in another matter when its Khyber Pakhtukhuwa (KPK) leader Israrullah Advocate said that singling out Geo and maligning it was not at all justifiable.

Israrullah Advocate said, Friday, that criticizing only Geo when every channel committing same mistakes was a biased and agenda.

The leader of JI, coalition partner of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said “Banning Geo was not a sane decision. We will defend the freedom of journalism at every cost.”

He went one step ahead and said “Until I do not watch news on Geo, I do not get satisfaction.”

The amir of JI Sirajul Haq, on May 10, categorically denied any possibility of becoming part of any demonstration, protest or movement which could derail the democracy in the country.

PakistanTribe had already reported exclusively on May 7 that JI would not become the part of May 11 protests that was the staged show of power by Imran Khan against 2013 election rigging.

PakistanTribe also reported that that since KPK’s coalition partner JI refused to become part of PTI-led protest, Khan and other leaders approached Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q)’s leadership for the support.
