Military top brass, PML-N discuss Afghanistan, Balochistan in Islamabad


ISLAMABAD – A high level meeting of National Security Council (NSC) has been concluded in federal capital in which chief of army staff General Raheel Sharif briefed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s leadership regarding his visit to Kabul.

The NSC convened on Tuesday which was presided by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and attended by all services chief including Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt General Zahirul Islam and federal minsters.

During the meeting the over all situation of law and order was discussed particularly the recent incidents of Balochistan.

General Raheel Sharif briefed the attendees regarding his visit and issued discussed in Kabul with Afghan Security Forces (ASF) and International Security Alliance Force (ISAF) in connection with post withdrawal strategy.

It’s the second meeting between military higher ups and political leadership in just past week. The previous meeting was scheduled in Karachi on May 14.
