Insafiyans scuffle with Islamabad police to get baton charge in return

ISLAMABAD – The worker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) otherwise known as Insafiyans faces baton charge by Islamabad police for violating the red zone’s code of conduct during a rally to protest election rigging in 2013 general elections.

According to the live updates from the ground zero, the police officer on duty at NADRA Chowk stopped the Insafiyans lead by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shireen Mazari and Shafqat Mehmood. Refusing to comply with the police orders, Insafiyans started scuffle with policemen.

Fearing the chaos the police officer ordered a baton charge and pushed the crowd back. However, at that time Shah Mehmood Qureshi started making speech in which he urged the administration to let the crowd peacefully go in front of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Within few minutes of the speech, police allowed to the crowd to pass through NADRA chowk and Insafiyans successfully reached outside the ECP to demonstrate the protest.

Imran Khan had announced to stage protest every Friday until his demands were met.
