KARACHI – The leader of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi wing Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has lashed Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) for creating chaos in Karachi also demanded to remove its strongman from the Governor of Sindh’s office.
According to the reports from PakistanTribe‘s correspondent from Karachi, JI representative put forward this demand during the meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday.
Nawaz was in Karachi to chair a high-level meeting regarding law and order situation of Karachi. After the formal meeting Nawaz Sharif held consultation with the representatives of all political parties of Karachi including MQM and JI.
The leader of Jamat-e-Islami confirmed that he had categorically told Nawaz Sharif about those involved in creating chaos in city of lights. “We have told Nawaz Sharif that miscreants in Karachi are nor ‘unknown’. Everybody knows which political party supports miscreants and block the city in the name of strikes every other day. Everybody knows its MQM,” he added.
Hafiz also confirmed that demand of removing MQM’s strongman Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan from Governorship of the province. “Dr Ishratul Ebad had made a Guinness record now. He must be removed,” he added further.
Commenting over this, leader of MQM Haider Abbas Rizvi said “I truly understand the pain and problem of Jamat-e-Islami.” He also maintained that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has promised to address the grievances of MQM.
“Nawaz Sharif had made the Grievances Committee which would include Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan. It is highly likely that now situation will improve,” he added.
Haider also termed the arrival of military top command in Karachi and their commitment to restore peace in Karacghi a good omen and a very strong message.
Moreover, PakistanTribe also learnt from credible sources that Director General Sindh Rangers Major General Rizwan Akhter gave briefing over Targeted Operation in Karachi. DG Rangers said that if political parties provide support then miscreants and criminals in Karachi could be eliminated completely.
During the meeting, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and MQM showed some reservations over targeted operation. However, all political parties vowed to provide all necessary support as well.
Reviewing the law and order situation, Nawaz Sharif showed displeasure over the fact that illegal mobile phone SIMs were not yet shut down. He ordered to immediately shut down all illegal SIMs. Moreover, Nawaz Sharif also ordered to issue Red Warrants for all those criminal elements who fled the country amid targeted operation.
