‘Big-Three’ reached Karachi to oversee law and order situation

KARACHI – The Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif reached Karachi to attend a high level security meeting to be attended by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lt General Zahirul Islam.

According PakistanTribe‘s city correspondent Nawaz Sharif was received by Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Chief Secretary of Sindh after which the premier landed in Governor House of Sindh through helicopter.

Correspondent confirmed that first time since 1998 Chief of Army Staff will be participating in a civilian government’s proceeding.

The other participants of high-level meeting would be Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, DG Intelligence Bureau (IB), DG Sindh Rangers Rangers and Additional Inspector General Police (AIGP) Shahid Hayat.

Correspondent confirmed that DG IB and AGIP would be giving a thorough briefing regarding Karachi’s targeted operation.

It was also confirmed that Nawaz Sharif would be making some important decisions during the meeting.

Nawaz Sharif had also invited former President Asif Ali Zardari to participate in the high level meeting which he merrily accepted. Asif Ali Zardari is the co-chairman of the ruling party of Sindh.

PakistanTribe reported on May 12 that Nawaz Shrif was considering to oust long standing Governor of Sindh from his office.
