PML-N finally submits before Pervez Musharraf, handed over FIA report

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led federal government appointed prosecutors in high treason case against former president General (rtd) Pervez Musharraf, finally submitted a 237-page inquiry report in Special Court.

PakistanTribe‘s court correspondent reported on Wednesday that Special Court presided by Justice Faisal Arab resumed the hearing of high-voltage case against former president during which prosecutor side submitted the report as directed in previous hearing.

It is pertinent to mention here that Federal Investigation Authority (FIA)’s investigation report was the prime document on the basis of what PML-N government initiated the high treason case against Musharraf. However, the prosecutor Shiekh Akram refused to gave that report to the lawyers of Musharraf saying ‘It would be against the law to do so’.

The defence lawyer, once earlier this month, maintained before the special court that at least one investigation officerinvolved in preparing the report had added an objection note.

Upon which the prosecutor Sheikh Akram said that the officer who added the objection note was in the list of witnesses. He said that FIA officer would appear before the court along with his own report.

PakistanTribe reported on April 25 that Special Court would order prosecution to provide the investigation report to defence which then might help Musharraf’s legal team to prepare a strong defence.
