PML-Q jumps in to support Imran Khan as Jamat-e-Islami sets back

ISLAMABAD – The leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi puts his weight behind Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Imran Khan stating that 2013 general elections were heavily rigged.

According to an official statement by Elahi on Friday the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had ‘hijacked’ the elections in 2013.

“Previously only planes were hijacked but now whole elections were hijacked,” he said.

“The worst rigging occurred in our constituencies. Punjab witnessed huge rigging on May 11, 2013,” he added.

He never mentioned whether PML-Q would be joining PTI’s May 11 protest at D-Chowk Islamabad, however, one source┬áprivy to both parties confirmed that ‘Q’s men’ would be attending the May 11 protest under PTI’s umbrella.

Source also confirmed that since Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa (KPK)’s coalition partner Jamat-e-Islami (JI) refused to become part of PTI-led protest, Khan and other leaders approached PML-Q’s leadership for the support.

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier today Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had offered Imran Khan to come meet him in Prime Minister house and forget about the May 11 protest.
