LONDON – With World Cup fever about to grip the planet, FIFA has updated its current standings going into the tournament.
World Cup hosts Brazil is now the highest-placed South American team in world football.
Brazil have climbed up two places to fourth in the list, as Colombia and Uruguay slip down to fifth and sixth respectively.
It is Brazil’s best position in the FIFA rankings since July 2011, per Fifa.com.

On the other hand Pakistan also climb up 2 places to 159, India dropped two places to 147.
Afghanistan (128) are the highest-ranked side in the sub-continent while Iran are on top of the Asian heap with an overall ranking of 37 followed by Japan (47) and Uzbekistan (53).
