Spy Got Away: Karachi court released FBI agent on bail

FBI in Pakistan

KARACHI – The apprehended secret agent of US spy agency Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been finally released on bail by a local court.

According to the correspondent reports, the local court had accepted the bail plea presented by FBI agent Joel Cox on Thursday.

Pakistani officials confirmed yesterday that US Embassy had ‘informally’ approached to seek assistance in Cox’s release.

However, it was only today that US Department of State made an official statement regarding Joel Cox and expressed a hope to get him released soon.

PakistanTribe reported yesterday that Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Cantt Rao Rizwan said that arrested American had a 90-day visit visa on his passport and he entered Pakistan on May 1, 2014.

“We had recovered fifteen bullets of 9mm gun from a battery. Also, three daggers, one laptop, different types of phones and spy devices were recovered from the bag. He refused to answer any of our questions until being given the facility of an attorney. We have provided a question memo in written which he would be filling after consulting his lawyer,” SSP Rizwan added.
