Landmine blast martyred eight soldiers in FATA, search operation begins

PESHAWAR – At least eight security forces’ soldiers were martyred in Miramshah in landmine blast, apparently installed by the outlawed militants and several other received injuries.

According to the official message circulated by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday, as many as eight solders were reported deceased in the tragic incident.

Security officials confirmed that the soldiers were on a scheduled and routine move on Ghulam Khan Road when a pre-installed landmine hit the vehicle.

The feet on ground zero confirmed that paramedics and rescue workers rushed to the accident site and launched relief activities. The injured were shifted to the hospitals.

Moreover, a full scale search operation was also launched in the adjacent areas. A special squad was also reportedly searching for more installed mines on the road.

Correspondent reports also confirmed that several injured soldiers were declared seriously wounded by the hospital authorities.

Though no militant group had yet accepted the responsibility of the attack of security forces but the militants of outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or its factions were believed to be behind this heinous barbarism.
