Supreme Court finally heard Imran Khan voice in thumbs verification case

ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has finally honored the petition of Imran Khan regarding thumbs impression┬áverification case and sought reply from Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) within 15 days.

Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan went to the Supreme Court building along with Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his lawyer Advocate Hamid Khan.

According to the court correspondent, the petition was heard by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani who ordered ECP to reply in written over the matter of thumbs verification.

Later, Hamid Khan maintained that he had two petitions, one regarding the thumbs verification and other about the electoral reforms. Upon this the CJP said “We will jointly hear both of your petitions”.

Later, outside the supreme court building, Khan spoke to the media representatives and said “Out of 65 constituencies, we want four to be opened up so that truth comes out about the 2013 election.”

Replying to a question, Khan said “Javed Hashmi’s speech in the National Assembly was taken out of the context. Listen to his full speech before making any comments.” Yesterday, many media outlets quoted that Javed Hashmi was rejoining Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) when he made a speech in National Assembly.
