1: Pakistan won its first medal i.e. silver during the 1956 Olympics in Australia

3: Pakistan seized its first Olympic gold in Italy 1960 and Hockey was named as the National Sport of Pakistan.
4: Pakistan defeated India in semis in 1968 at Mexico and Australia in the finals.
5: In 1970, Nur Khan, the PHF president at that time recommended the concept of a Hockey World Cup.
