LAHORE – The workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), otherwise known as Insafiyans, have ‘dishonored’ the Lahore High Court as their leader Imran Khan came to hear the case against election rigging.
According to the eye witness account, the Insafiyans created a lot of chaos inside the court room while the honorable Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) sat on his chair to hear the case.
The workers of PTI filled the court room to its maximum capacity and few of them even raised the slogans as soon as they saw Imran Khan coming along with his lawyers.
Witnessing the chaos, the Chief Justice of LHC Umar Ata Bandial left the court room and directed the lawyer of Imran Khan, Ahmed Owais maintain the dignity of the court. “No such attitude is tolerable in court,” he added in his brief comment while hammering on the desk.
Imran Khan had lost NA-122 (Lahore V) to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in May 2013 general elections. However, Khan won from NA-56 Rawalpindi by defeating Hanif Abbasi of PML-N. Later, Khan took oath as Member National Assemvly (MNA) from the same Sardar Ayaz Sadiq as he was then made the speaker of National Assembly.
It is pertinent to mention here that PTI chief Imran Khan had announced a campaign against last year’s election rigging. He accused the former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to be equally involved in the electoral rigging, the charges he termed as ‘useless’.
