KARACHI – Even though Hamid Mir has refused to cooperate with Joint Investigative Team (JIT) due to presence of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) member in it, however, the authorities have successfully prepared a sketch draft of the attacker who allegedly tried to assassinate Mir.

The sketch released by the authorities is given below:

The government has announced a special commission to investigate the attack and offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

The sketch was prepared with the help of eyewitnesses. The description of the alleged shooter says that he had the medium-height, heavyset and fair-skinned male in mid-to-late thirties.

Moreover, the investigators have also acquired the CCTV footage from the airport, in which the alleged attacker could be seen talking on the phone while standing near Hamid Mir’s car as it was leaving Jinnah International Airport’s parking lot, whereas his accomplices had already gone to take their positions in the field.

The footage further shows the suspect continued with the phone call even after Hamid Mir’s vehicle left the Karachi airport.

The sleuths, who are now also in possession of the mobile phone record, believe the suspected ambushers cannot escape the long arm of the law.
