PESHAWAR/D.I KHAN – Workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf commenced protest sit-ins in various cities of Khayber Pakhtoonkhawa and stopped NATO trucks destined for troops stationed in Afghanistan, a day after PTI chief Imran Khan launched anti-missile strike campaign.
PTI workers blocked roads in Naushera, D.I Khan, Peshawar and others towns of KP and stopped NATO trucks from crossing the province.
Preparations to halt the supply route were underway in others towns, including Charsadda and Bannu, as activists were massing to state sit-ins.
In Naushera, PTI workers took to streets and staged protest sit-in on Khairabad bridge, halting the way of NATO trucks coming from Punjab.
In D.I Khan, the PTI workers staged sit-in on Indus Highway, suspending the vehicular traffic.
PTI workers have set up camps at five major highways of the KPK where they were checking vehicles’ documents.
They said only those containers are being allowed to enter Afghanistan which carry goods other than the NATO supplies. The PTI workers tortured the truck drives at Hayatabad area in Peshawar.
