KARACHI – Following Ufone’s roll out of 3G in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Mobilink has rolled out its free trial of 3G in four cities of the country.“Experience the power of Mobilink’s 3G Network! Are you ready to experience the boost? Karachi, Faisalabad, Multan & Quetta, here we come!,” says a note of Mobilink, which officially has the most number of subscribers.
Given the coverage area, Mobilink has been leading with one city while Ufone has shown its focus in urban parts of the country.
Both of the companies have been providing free of cost 3G services to their customers, which will be charged after official launch permission from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
According to some speed tests, Ufone is seemingly providing a bit better speed with up to 3.6Mpbs speed. Mobilink, as per some users, is providing up to 3Mbps speed, annoying a bit the users.
Adding salt to injury, a comment of a Warid user has made a comment on speed saying (although it has been confirmed)
“Given speed of Mobilink 3G, Warid 2G is best as I have used both Mobilink and Ufone.”
