Muzaffargarh ‘love birds’ decide to end life for being not able to marry


MUZAFFARGARH – Two lovers have attemptedĀ suicide after being unable to tie knot with each other due to family differences and boy now believed to be dead.

According to the details gathered by correspondent from Muzaffargarh, the couple were in an informal relationship for many years.

The boy attempted self immolation around two week ago and died today (Tuesday) due to serious burn injuries. Upon this news, the girl also taken the doze of poisonous drink and then shifted to the Nishtar hospital.

According to the hospital sources, the girl’s condition was not stable.

Lately, the police had registered the First Investigation Report (FIR) of both incidents and launched a formal inquiry of the matter.

The Pakistani law adjudges attempted suicide as a criminal offence punishable with one year of imprisonment and/or a fine.

Whoever attempts to commit suicide and does any act towards the commission of such offence, shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.
