Another grave concern for Karachi as flour about to become scarce


KARACHI – Amid bomb blasts and deteriorating security conditions, the city of light is now hit with another grave situation as flour crisis created by the Flour Mills Association starting taking toll from the common people.

The strike initiated by Flour Mills Association entered the day five on Saturday which started for dispute over the wheat price in the province of Sindh.

According to the correspondent reports, the flour mills association have completely blocked the machinery. All stock available at storage facilities in Karachi was reportedly to be at its lowest.

The retail dealers have also increased the price on remaining stock which increased the trouble for a common buyer.

The Sindh Food Department still could not show any serious concern over the grave issue and keping its silent.

After suffering from load shedding, water shortage and lawlessness, the people of Karachi are facing flour crisis these days.

Sindh flour mills owners are on strike for not bringing the wheat support price in the province at par with that of Punjab. They are demanding to decrease support price by Rs 50 per maund to Rs 1200 a maund to bring to the level as that of Punjab.
