New turn in the case of Haider Ali Gilani video message

Haider Ali Gilani

ISLAMABAD – After the criticism of former prime minister and leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, the federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan denied that government received any video of Haider Ali Gilani.

According to the details, Yousuf Raza Gilani showed reservations and serious concern over media reports in which Chaudhry Nisar reportedly accepted to receive one such video.

Yousuf Raza Gilani said “It deeply saddened me. He (Ch Nisar) should have taken me into confidence before making any statement.”

However, the ministry of interior has denied receiving a video tape from the captors showing Haider Ali Gilani.

“Please be advised that it is not appropriate for the media to impute the disclosure of receiving the said video or its details to Federal Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan,” the ministry said in an official statement.

The statement added that airing the video again and again would only add to Ali Haider’s family’s woes.

It should be mentioned here that yesterday’s report regarding the video message was based on an informal discussion with federal interior minister. He mentioned every details described in the previous news story.
