According to the details available to PakistanTribe.com, the public page will curate original photos, videos and status updates posted publicly by Facebook’s members.

Facebook and Storyful said the stream of posts, which will be updated throughout the day, is geared toward editors and reporters around the world, though anyone can access the page. It will include news, weather and entertainment posts.
“Our goal is that the Newswire will be an invaluable tool for journalists, helping them to tell richer, more engaging stories using public content from Facebook,” said Andy Mitchell, Facebook’s director of news and global media partnerships.
The page will be updated in real time, with Storyful staff verifying each piece of content, said Áine Kerr, Storyful’s managing editor.
Each photo, video or status update in the stream will link back to the page of the Facebook user who posted it. It will be up to individual newsrooms to contact the user for further information.
The move is part of Facebook’s effort to compete with rivals like Twitter and Reddit to be a “town square” of chatter during breaking news. In March, Reddit rolled out a new feature to let select users, nicknamed “reporters,” post live updates.
Storyful is a Dublin-based service that monitors social media and verifies the authenticity of information. It is owned by News Corp, which also owns The Wall Street Journal.
Facebook and Storyful stressed that only public posts would be used on the page. Facebook users controls whether their posts are private or public or private through the site’s privacy settings. The company recently started checking up with its members to make sure they are aware of their settings.
According to the announcements made by Storyful and Facebook, if a Facebook user deletes a post that appears on FB Newswire, the link back to the user’s page won’t work anymore and Storyful will remove the information.
Digital Media critics believe that within week it will be finalized that monitoring tools and official pages of different media houses will be still relevant or become dying platforms.
