Nawaz Sharif stands with Army Chief, praises security institutes


WEB DESK – Amid post-Hamid Mir attack chaotic reporting, the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has finally stood with the chief of army staff General Raheel Sharif in Gawadar and praised the role of security institutes in maintaining law and order situation in Balochistan.

The leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was meeting the top military commander for the first time on Thursday after the alleged murder attempt on Geo News anchorperson Hamid Mir.

Nawaz Sharfi addressed the media while General Raheel Sharif and Chief Minister of Balochistan, Dr Malik Baloch stood on his each side.

Nawaz Sharif said “We want to take Pakistan ahead towards the development. It is his (CM Baloch) priority. It is his (General Raheel Sharif) priority. And it is my priority as well.” While saying so he pointed at CM Baloch and General Raheel.

General Raheel nodded in affirmative when being pointed out.

Nawaz Sharif also admired the role of security institutes in maintaining the law and order situation in militancy hit Balochistan.

Nawaz Sharif also vowed to make Gawadar an international and free port on the lines of Hong Kong and Dubai.

Nawaz Sharif was visiting the port city of Gawadar to analyze the progress of developmental projects. Ahsan Iqbal, the federal minister of planning, was also accompanying the prime minister.

On April 19, Nawaz Sharif – while addressing at the Pakistan Military Academy – has admired the professionalism of army chief and asked the future military officers to follow his footsteps.
