Reports claim that Steve Wynn may not have been aware just how much Clooney backs the president, but he quickly found out after calling Barak Obama an “a.. hole.”
“He called the President an a–hole … that is a fact,” the 52-year-old actor said in a statement about the heated words they exchanged during a recent dinner at Botero restaurant inside Wynn’s Encore hotel in Las Vegas.
“I said the President was my longtime friend and then he said, ‘Your friend is an a–hole,'” he continued. “At that point I told Steve that HE was an a–hole and I wasn’t going to sit at his table while he was being such a jacka–. And I walked out.”
Wynn’s side of the story paints quite a different picture. One in which Clooney reportedly “got drunk” from several tequila shots.
“The place was empty,” Wynn told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “He stood up and threw a hissy fit.”
The hotel business magnate referred to Clooney’s initial outburst at another dinner guest who made a joke about former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev.
“Then he sat down and started talking about the Affordable Care Act and that’s when I spoke up,” Wynn continued. “He didn’t like that either. I think my discussion about the Affordable Care Act was the straw that broke the camel’s back. When he’s drinking, he considers himself a close personal buddy of the President.”
After which, Clooney supposedly stood up and said, “I don’t have to listen to this (expletive) stuff,” Wynn said.
“There were nine people at that table,” Clooney’s statement read, dismissing Wynn’s account. “So you can ask them. Steve likes to go on rants.”
