WASHINGTON – Facing a stiff competition from Google and Apple, Microsoft Windows have been making adopting a genius move to expand its app store.“Microsoft has been using telecom operators for buying apps, games on mobile and tablets,” the software giant sources told Pakistan Tribe.
“As credit cards are not with everyone in US and most of other countries in the world, you can’t see growth in the app purchase from Windows App Store,” they further said.
“This is the key strategy Microsoft has been using to have an edge over Apple and Google, which require credit card to buy any app or for in-app purchase,” PT learnt.
The thing is specially true for gaming apps and game related in-app purchase, a major source of app selling on the app store.
According to statistics available, Microsoft Windows App Store has 415K + apps in its store, with 410 K developers active on it. As many as 100 million users are active on the store, so making it a good platform for the developers to design and build apps for Windows Phone and Tablets.
