RAWALPINDI: Amid what Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has previously termed as ‘baseless allegation’, chief of army staff General Raheel Sharif has visited the head office of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and admired its role in keeping country safe.
The official communique issued by the ISPR on Tuesday states that General Raheel Sharif visited the Directorate General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) where he was received by DG ISI Lt General Zaheerul Islam
General Sharif appreciated the role of ISI towards national security and lauded the contributions and sacrifices of its officers and men towards strengthening the defence of the motherland.
The He was given detailed briefing on internal and external security situation of the country.
The ISI officials informed General Raheel Sharif about the reservations and anger over baseless allegations leveled by Geo and Jang group since Saturday after the alleged murder attempt on Hamid Mir.
ISI officials noted that since the formation of US premier spy agency, only 50 of its workers lost lives in casualties, however, ISI had lost more than 200 officers for the defence of Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that after the alleged murder attempt on Hamid Mir, Geo and Jang group never wasted a minute to run the whole course of transmission in order to prove that how Hamid Mir himself had nominated ISI and Lt General Zaheerul Islam if anything happened to him.
However, it was only after damnation and criticism on behalf of other media outlets and general public, Geo and Jang Group changed their stance and started publishing/broadcasting news that they are not accusing any institute nor pointing fingers at anyone rather demanding a free and fair investigations.
