Almost Abroad: Pervez Musharraf moved Sindh High Court to lift travel ban

Musharraf Trial

WEB DESK – Former President General (rtd) Pervez Musharraf has moved Sindh High Court (SHC) to get his name removed from Exit Control List (ECL).

Barrister Farogh Naseem, the lawyer of Musharraf, submitted the plea in SHC on Monday.

Nasee plead in the petition that government had included Pervez Musharraf’s name on April 5, 2013 and on April 2, 2014 the ministry of interior rejected the plea to remove the name from ECL.

Plea sought the apex court to overturn both orders.

Pervez Musharraf moved to Karachi on April 19 where he was staying at his daughter’s home and availing medical facilities at PNS Shifa of Pakistan Navy.

Moreover, a Special Court was constituted in Islamabad which heard the High Treason case against former military strongman.

Musharraf was also summoned by the couple of different courts in three different cases. He was summoned by one Anti-Terrorism Court on April 25 for the hearing of judges detention case. On May 3, he was summoned in Islamabad in Lal Masjid cleric’s murder case. Another ATC in Quetta had summoned him to appear for the hearing of Nawaz Akbar Khan Bugti’s murder.

Musharraf had submitted a plea in the Supreme Court of Pakistan for the removal of his name from ECL.

PakistanTribe reported that Nawaz Sharif only wanted his face saving in the pertaining issue. According to a seniorjournalist and media personality ‘Javed Chaudhry’ that middle way would be removing Musharraf’s name from ECL through a court order.

On April 3, PakistanTribe reported that a bomb went off on the route of the convoy as Musharraf was being shifted from AFIC to his farm house .

Musharraf has been shifted from Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) to Chak Shahzad after three months. He was taaken to hospital on January 2 as he developed a cardiac problem enroute to appear before the special court hearing treason case against him.
