Akhtar got a coaching positing from the State Bank of Pakistan, to coach and train the team.
A bowler, who has never imagined himself as a coach in his life, however, seems excited on the offer.
“I have been repeatedly saying that Pakistan needs an aggressive coach. Actually a person like Imran Khan could do the work for declining cricket in the country,” he said in an interview.
He was the fastest ever of the cricket history with his competition kept on with Australia’s Brett Lee. One after another controversies and health problems, however, led to his career end soon.
Akhtar is determined to coach his team in an aggressive tone.
“Fast bowler is an ‘attitude’. It doesn’t mean to abuse or scuffle, but to get wickets and to win matches in a speedily and aggressively. I will coach and transfer this style to my team.”
Shoaib is not hopeful for Pakistan cricket future.
“There is no hero left in the team now.
“Earlier, you have big names in your team who inspired you to learn and play well, but there is no one now. Fixing allegations and internal politics have mess up the dress room environment.”
“Pakistan needs a sincere and selfless person to fix all these problems.”
